Update 10/30/2015:Well, after about 10 months of service, I'm seeing cracks in the case where the carbon fiber insert attaches to the rest of the case. It is like a seam that is coming loose. I'm pretty disappointed that a $50 case is falling apart like this, especially when you could go through two of the Apple cases for that amount. I submitted a ticket with Element to see if they can do anything...not sure if they have a very long warranty or not. Just really disappointed, after reading the reviews of the iPhone 5 version of the cases. It appears this is a common problem after reading some of the most recent reviews of the iPhone 6 version.Update 12/09/2014:I received the replacement. It does seem like a better fit than the first one, and am really glad to have this case back on, over my Spigen. The buttons don't make the same squeaking sound when you press them now.I would rate this 4.5 stars, if I could but I can't, so have to rate it 4 stars, only because the headphone port is not really accessible with any type of headphone connector (I've tried Apple and Bose). It is accessible only if you either remove the case, or deform the case to slide it in. I would be concerned with deforming the case, as it would probably eventually lead to weakening the TPU near the headphone port. I understand why it's partially blocked, because the port is so close to the screen, they couldn't really do anything about it, except to make the case thicker on the bezel side, which I wouldn't want either.Overall, I am really impressed by this case, and would not hesitate to buy it again.Original Review:I've eyed Element's cases ever since I had an iPhone 4S, but eventually decided a metal case was not what I wanted. When the iPhone 5 came out, I saw that Element decided to try a TPU case, and it seemed like it was a hit. I ended up keeping that 4S for 3 years, so it wasn't until now, with an iPhone 6, that I was in the case market again.Since these weren't available right when the iPhone 6 first came out, I decided on a Spigen Slim Armor case, at least, until this one came out. That case has served me well, but I wanted something better.I saw that the Element Ion 6 had been released, and initial reviews weren't too good, talking about fitment issues. I held off for a few more weeks, and then there seemed to be news that Element had fixed these issues, so I decided to buy one. I got it several days ago, and after the first day, I was disappointed in the fitment, and had wondered if I possibly had one of the original batch of cases. I contacted Element, and they confirmed an issue with fitment on the first few that were made, but could not confirm mine was one of them by serial number or purchase date, so off it went back to Element.I'm currently waiting to receive the new case, as it took several days to return. My issues with fitment were with the buttons on the sides of the case. Especially the volume buttons. When you need to press one of them, it seemed like it took a while for the case buttons to engage the iPhone's buttons, and during this amount of travel, the sides of the case would squeak and slide up the curved part of the screen. Is this a deal breaker? Well, maybe not, but for a TPU case (with carbon fiber panel), I think the average consumer expects it to fit better than a Spigen case, which in my opinion, it did not. The overall quality of the Element Ion 6 though, is outstanding. You can tell it is a premium product. Honestly, I didn't expect the TPU to feel quite like it does on the Element, it has a nice solid feel, with just the right amount of grip, quite different from the soft TPU on the Spigen cases. The texture is really nice, and I love the outside shape of the case. All that said, I hope that I come back with an update that changes this from a 3* to a 5* review, pending the results of the replacement case.Nice case, fits well and slides in and out of my pocket with ease and doesn't gather pocket lint. I've dropped my phone a few times with this case on and there was no damage to the phone. I do use a Zagg HD clarity screen protector as well. The only downside is that this is way overpriced for what you get. You are definitely paying for the piece of carbon fiber on the back. After opening the box, and taking this out, I was really disappointed. I'm not sure what I expected, but this is not a lot of value for the money. Does it work? Yes. At $25 or $30, this would be great, but at $50, prepare for a little let down. Price aside, this is still a nice case and does protect the phone well. The Build Quality is nice. This case does not offer very much screen protection. I would recommend getting a screen protector with this case. The Carbon Fiber is a nice touch and a bit unique. No issues with headphones or with the lightning cable. Mine is still holding up well after about 6 months. I have only dropped the phone maybe twice and the phone has suffered no damage thus far. This case does make the phone extra wide and in some cases too wide for some pockets. If you want a sharp looking Carbon Fiber Phone Case, I would recommend this one. Just make sure to install a screen protector as well.Nice case. Fits well not too bulky. Easy installation (no instructions included but not necessary). While I'm pleased with the purchase and had (I think) a reasonable expectation of what I'd receive, I must say this case is overpriced. It's not overpriced compared to other iphone 6 cases (which all seem overpriced, IMHO) but it is still overpriced for what it is: a plastic case with a little bit of so-called "real" carbon fiber on the back. Overall I like this case and intend to keep it - it is just that you do not get much for the money.Looks neat, especially with the carbon fiber on it. I had an Element carbon fiber case on a previous iPhone 4S that was awesome. This one though doesn't seem to have quite as much protection on the corners. The buttons are harder to work too. Still a cool looking case, protection seems to be more than adequate, but be aware of the issues with using the buttons on the side of the phone.Semi rigid, durable & trim. Love it.What needs improvement: kinda slick. I added “grip tape”.The “ridge” that is supposed to protect the screen is a little shallow...makes me nervous.BUT, so far...no issues. Maybe the ridge is “just right”?The case fits good on my phone. It seems to be tough enough for a minimalist case. However, I have a glass screen protector and it is slightly smaller than the screen due to the curvature of the screen glass. The edges of the screen protector can show rather prominently with this case. If the case had extended inwards a bit to cover the curve part of the screen it would have minimized the edge of the screen protector on the display.. I probably would have kept this case despite it having a slightly slick feel and give it another star. This case is best for use without having a glass screen protector on the iPhone.I have owned several Element cases and I have loved them all, until now. This case is a good looking case and the ergonomics are good, maybe a little bulky for some people. The problems I had with the case were both the phone was not secure in the case and then it fell apart. From the start I would pull my phone out of my pocket and would find the case coming off on the corners and would have to put the phone back into the case. After 1 year and two months the case separated between the carbon fiber and the rubber just as others have experienced. I have owned several ION cases and until this one for the IPhone 6 they all have held together well and looked great. The warranty on this $50 case is one year so I am out of luck. I am not rough with my phones so I am really surprised that it fell apart so quickly. I would not recommend this case for the money. It was a nice case while it lasted. I liked the design of this case and couldn't wait to get one. When I did I loved it, however, that love soon came to an end when the case came away at the sides and I couldn't get a refund even though the case was only a few months old. I tried another element case which was twice the price thinking surely it must last longer but that one lasted a few weeks before breaking. Elements products are poorly made and they don't seem to care about their customers only the money. For that reason I will never buy anything made by Element ever again.Yes, if the Great Detective was still around then I'm sure he would be using one of these on his iPhone 6! I've dropped my iPhone on tarmac, concrete and on the metal walkway on the mile hike to the Ryanair gates in Terminal 1 at Dublin Airport and both the phone and the case remain perfectly intact! The case adds 'grip' functionality to the iPhone - especially if you're palms are slippery on a hike, a jog or the beach! It doesn't 'bulk up' the iPhone the way a lot of the 'flip covers' do and so it lives comfortably in my jeans' pocket at work and play. ELEMENTary really!Second time I've bought an element case, expensive but the first one (iPhone 4s) was still in very good condition after two years.Protects the phone well, rubber lasts forever, carbon back looks good and doesn't scratch.Ergonomic design, works well with iPhone 6+ volume control, silent switch and power buttonDefinitely will buy element case for any future phonesExcellent iPhone case, the fit is perfect, none of the problems with the button switches not lining up,and the case is made to feel very grippy.the sides feel slightly grained for a secure feel, also the edges are very well protected,I think it would cope well if dropped,in my opinion the best iPhone 6 case, highly recommend. It's a really good case. I love Element products. it has protected my phone when i drop it. However, ever since the day I received it the cantre carbon fibre bit keeps popping out from the rubber surround on the top and bottom corners of the left side.Other than that its pretty great.
